Oh, and we thought Resident Evil 4 VR was great! It’s a damn good time to be a Resident Evil fan, that’s for sure.
Speaking of the video games: Resident Evil Village is getting some free DLC soon and Resident Evil 7 just became the highest selling game in the series. In fact, it’s taking the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 storylines and mashing them up into a single movie. Instead, this one is more of an actual adaptation of the video games. If you’re not already in the know about Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, it’s a complete reboot of the Resident Evil movies - meaning there’s no connection to the Milla Jovovich films. There’s a Youtube mirror for it here if you would like to see it in 4K. It’s awful but in a good way!Ĭheck Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City’s Nightmare trailer for yourself below.
Like the movie’s other teasers, there are loads of references to the video game series here - specifically lots of shots of Lisa Trevor and her incredibly creepy doll collection. 23, Sony released the ‘Nightmare’ trailer. To remind everyone it’s coming out on Nov. Yes, it’s nearly time for this reboot of the Resident Evil film series to hit theaters. That's not to say The Final Chapter will necessarily offer much that will convince those have resisted jumping aboard the Resident Evil bandwagon thus far to finally make the leap - but for fans of this series, it looks like Anderson and Jovovich will be closing out their run with a worthy bang.Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City got a new trailer, and if you’re not a fan of spooky-looking dolls, then maybe avert your eyes now. RESIDENT EVIL 6 : The Final Chapter TEASER TRAILERS (Milla Jovovich - Action Horror Movie, 2017) Check out the first trailer RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL. Joining Alice for her final trip back to Raccoon City in The Final Chapter is Ali Larter back as Claire Redfield, as well as such recognizable faces as Rubie Rose ( Orange is the New Black) - who, between her work here and her role in John Wick: Chapter Two, could make a real name for herself as an action star in 2017 - and Japanese model/actress Role, among others. Whereas the fourth and fifth movies in the series (2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife especially) were arguably hampered by Anderson going overboard with the 3D elements, The Final Chapter bears a stronger resemblance to the earlier chapters in the franchise in terms of visuals - but with more of a modern polish, after fifteen years of improvements in filmmaking techniques since the first Resident Evil was made.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter also seems poised to deliver the best action sequences and set pieces featured in any of Anderson's Resident Evil movies to date, judging by the footage on display in the newest international trailer. Alexander Isaacs (Ian Glen) and Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts), among them. In order to do so, however, Alice ends up having to work alongside some unexpected allies (see: the Red Queen) and taking on some of her old enemies Dr. Sony has now released a second international trailer for The Final Chapter that likewise paints the film's plot as being pretty simple: Alice has 48 hours to find and unleash an airborne antivirus (one which was also created by the Umbrella Corporation) to save the world from being completely ravaged by the zombie-apocalypse. Its a slight departure from the games, but close enough that it bears mentioning. That is shown early on in the trailer when Claire Redfield is shown on a motorcycle, sporting her classic outfit. Indeed, judging by the trailers released for the film so far, Alice's final battle against the evil Umbrella Corporation looks to unfold as a pretty straight-forward mad dash to the finish line between Alice (and her allies) and the zombie hordes. This Resident Evil movie has made it quite clear that it intends to stick closer to the source material of the original video games, rather than the overly embellished original film franchise. Whereas the fifth Resident Evil film, Resident Evil: Retribution, in particular wound up being criticized for unnecessarily convoluting the (already somewhat-muddled) overarching mythology of Anderson's previous movies, that shouldn't be a problem with The Final Chapter. Anderson, who has either written and/or directed every installment in the movie franchise to date, is calling the shots on The Final Chapter too, in order to bring his run on the property to a proper close. The sixth Resident Evil film is hitting the scene nearly fifteen years after the release of the first big screen Resident Evil installment: a zombie horror-flavored action/thriller that introduced the world to the superheroine that is Alice (Milla Jovovich). Just over one month after Ubisoft Motion Pictures attempts to launch a new (and lucrative) video game-based movie franchise with Assassin's Creed, the most successful video game film series of all time will be coming to a close, with the release of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
